    The Faith's First Mention in North America

    At the World's Parliament of Religions in Chicago, Rev. Henry Harris Jessup read a paper describing the Báb's and Bahá'u'lláh's teachings to the assembled delegates — the first time the Faith's name reached a North American audience. No one in the room became a Bahá'í that day; the date is verified against a Chicago Inter Ocean newspaper citation (see Wikipedia, "Bahá'í Faith in the United States").
